Bouchard Scores Twice, Draisaitl Adds Two Assists
Edmonton Oilers Defeat Dallas Stars 3-1
The Edmonton Oilers took a commanding 3-1 lead in the Western Conference Final with a 3-1 win over the Dallas Stars in Game 5 on Wednesday night. Evan Bouchard scored two goals, including the game-winner, and Leon Draisaitl dished out two assists. The Oilers scored three times in the third period to break open a 1-1 tie.
Bouchard opened the scoring just 1:38 into the third period with a power-play goal. Draisaitl set up the goal with a pass from the left circle. Bouchard made it 2-1 at 9:10 of the third period with a wrister from the slot. Connor McDavid assisted on the goal.
Draisaitl clinched the win with an empty-net goal at 19:03 of the third period. It was his 11th goal of the playoffs.
Mike Smith made 29 saves for the Oilers. Anton Khudobin made 25 saves for the Stars.
Game 6 of the series is set for Friday night in Dallas.
