Fares to increase for bus, rail, and light rail services
Riders encouraged to use Trip Planner to calculate new fares
NEWARK, N.J. – NJ TRANSIT will implement fare changes for bus, rail, and light rail services effective July 1st. The fare increases are necessary to address rising operating costs and maintain the reliability and quality of service that our customers expect.
Bus fares will vary by time of day and the distance between the origin and destination. Rail and light rail fares will also increase. Riders are encouraged to use NJ TRANSIT’s Trip Planner to calculate their new fares.
